Experimental Gallery

The pins on this page are my latest experiment. I love the stickers available in scrapbook stores and wondered if I could use them, somehow, with my clay. These are the result.
What do you think?

Rub on transfer, coated with layers of TLS, then embellished.

Rub-on transfer on polymer clay
These three were my first attempt.
I rubbed these dragonfly/butterfly transfers on thin pre-baked sheets of polymer clay. Next, I covered each piece with thin layers of TLS and baked.
(I have about 3 or 4 layers on each of these.)
When I decided they were sufficiently coated and cured, I embedded the baked pieces on another flat piece of raw clay. I added the borders, vines, dots and flowers, then rebaked the entire piece.

I thought I was on a roll... This time I used scrapbooking stickers.
I followed the same steps as above. Unfortunately, no matter how many coats of TLS
were applied, I couldn't get them as smooth or flat as the rub-on transfers.
Ho-Hum...
I found that if there were any air bubbles or the edges weren't absolutely flat,
the TLS would pop off the sticker!!!
I'm not giving up yet tho. I still like this idea.
